Early Voting 

With the passing of Proposal 2022-2, the 2024 election cycle will now have early voting for all state and federal elections. The Election dates for 2024 Elections are as follows: Presidential Primary Election, Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, Primary Election, Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 and General Election, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Dates for early voting are:

Presidential Primary Election through February 17-25, 2024 

Primary Election - July 27 through August 4th, 2024

General Election - October 26 through November 3rd, 2024

All Early Voting will be held at Frenchtown Township Board Room, 2744 Vivian Road, Monroe, MI  48162. Early voting hours will be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The CN Railroad Train Track crossing located on Nadeau Road (the first track west of N. Dixie) will receive a complete overhaul in the Spring of 2024.

The Frenchtown Charter Township Resolution Holding Second Reading and Adopting Interim Zoning Ord Amendment Establishing a Moratorium on Short Term Rentals as well as Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 200-161 can be viewed on the attached link. Public participation and comments on the proposition of short term rentals in the Township may be provided to the Township Planning Commission at public comment time during regular Planning Commission meetings; in writing via the Township Building Department at 2744 Vivian Road, Monroe, MI 48162; and/or via email to buildingdept@frenchtownmi.gov . In the meantime your patience while we devote our time and energies toward evaluating and developing the most appropriate regulatory structure for such potential uses in Frenchtown Charter Township is appreciated. Railroad Issues:

Your Frenchtown Township Board of Trustees recognizes how frustrating the prolonged stoppage of trains at Hurd and Sandy Creek are. While we wait for Federal assistance on getting the trains to stop this practice, the Board has implemented an early warning system to try and help residents save time and gas. Instructions below will help you download an app that will allow you to view cameras pointed at the effected tracks.
